Trees are Cool
In May 25 we enjoyed three days talking with and watching arborists at the Asia Pacific Tree Climbing Championship. It was held at the Capalaba Regional Park. This was only a couple of months after Tropical Cyclone Alfred. The council did a great job getting the Park back in beautiful condition.
We packed up the Silky Saws trailer and made the grand trip 2 kms down the road to where all the action was taking place.
Over the three days we met plenty of arborists, spectators and yes, also people who were interested in Silky Saws and climbing equipment.
One arborist gave us a Brilliant Idea.
Benjamin Inman, an Arboricultural Consultant and arborist in Brisbane had figured out a way to avoid getting too muddy when fixing the never ending problem of trees entangling fences. And he shared his revelation with us.

Arboriculture Matters
When it comes to tree care during construction, Trees Are Cool are true innovators. They’ve found a clever solution to a common arborist challenge—cutting tree roots cleanly inside deep, water-soaked post holes—by combining two premium Silky products in an unexpected way.
Using a 3-meter Silky Forester Pole Saw paired with a Silky Gomtaro Root Cutting Saw Blade, they’ve created the ultimate tool for precision root pruning in hard-to-reach places.

Why Root Care Matters During Construction
When posts are installed near trees, the root systems are often in the way. But roots are the life of the tree—damaging them can severely affect tree health, stability, and long-term survival. That’s where the Silky Gomtaro Root Cutting Blade shines. Specifically engineered for cutting roots in soil, it delivers clean, smooth cuts that give roots the best chance of healing and regenerating. The teeth are built to stay sharp even in gritty, wet environments.
Why Use a Pole Saw? Stay Clean, Work Smart
Post holes are usually excavated using high-pressure water, creating muddy, swamp-like conditions that arborists typically have to crawl into to reach the roots. By mounting the Gomtaro Root Cutting Blade onto a Forester pole, arborists can stay dry and above ground—cutting precisely without getting soaked or sacrificing their dignity (and workwear).

If you are looking for a relaxing weekend spot
I can whole heartedly recommend that you set a few hours aside and take the time to visit the South East Side of Brisbane. Enjoy yourself and the surrounds of Capalaba Regional Park. I was quite taken with what is available there.
