This Silky Zubat Curved Handsaw saw cuts ONLY on the PULL stroke. All cutting occurs on the pull stroke. Use a minimal amount of pressure as you pull the blade toward yourself and then glide the saw forward. On the forward stroke, the teeth will clear of timber or material and then on the pull stroke the saw will do the cutting again. So it’s a, Pull…..relax glide forward, pull….relax glide forward style of cutting.
The tips of the Zubats teeth have been hardened to give an extremely long life to the sharpness of the saw. The blades are hollow-ground to reduce friction and increase ease of cutting action and speed. The handle is made from Silky’s special GOM material, giving superior grip and a reduction in vibrations. The teeth are non-set and have a Mirai-Me design which creates a very smooth surface once the timber is cut. The blades are made from a special material which is a high carbon steel and have been given a special coating in order to reduce rust and protect the blade.
All parts of the Silky Zubat Curved Handsaw saws are available and replaceable. All Zubats come with a scabbard that has a belt and leg strap attachment loops. Leg straps are available separately in the parts section (Code 506-04-14)

We live on a rural property – have many eucalyptus trees, wattle trees, paper bark trees. These trees grow quickly and often drop branches without warning, blocking the driveway.
7 years ago, we were gifted a Zubat 330 by an arborist friend. We have been flogging it since, we use it every weekend as a small chainsaw, as a tool for pruning, cutting branches in burnable lengths and tidying up. So very few strokes required to cut green and dry wood. Cutting is astonishingly effortless, the blade is very robust, cleaning it is easy. The cut is super smooth and the trees are happy.
Same blade – 7 years on. Heaps of fun.
We have purchased a new blade, but the old one is still doing so well we are just not ready to retire it. A must have. We have chainsaws, but this is way more fun.

Silky Zubat Review by Matt O’Neil-TLC Tree Care
The new Silky Zubat with the larger tooth profile offers faster and more aggressive cutting performance in comparison to the previous model. The advantages of this cutting performance:
Fast cutting allows for easy top/back cutting or step cutting of horizontal branches 15cm+.
Fast and accurate ‘scarf’ cutting for control of vertical and horizontal branches.
Use of efficient cutting device where establishment of 2 points of attachment isn’t possible (extreme limb walk) where chainsaw use isn’t appropriate (re safety standards).
