ABOUT SILKY SAWS:
The clang of hammering resounded for the first time in the land of Kishi, Japan in 1919. Silky founder Mr. Katsuji Miyawaki utilized his artisan spirit to create and produce the “TAMAKITSUNE” the original brand of Silky. He put his heart, soul and unrelenting spirit into the development and manufacture of expertly designed, high-quality saws.
In 1970, the invention of the automatic saw setting machine created a significant revolution in the development of saws. Hence, Silky was the first to adopt this process. Furthermore, in 1980, Silky created and patented a proprietary saw setting process that provided a remarkable improvement in sharpness. The “4-RETSUME” and the “MIRAIME2” saws were created utilizing this advanced technology. In 1983, a unification of the company occurred, and the Silky name was applied to all products.
In 1985, Silky introduced both the “GOMTARO” and the “GOMBOY,” showcasing the first-ever rubber-clad handle. Consequently, the design received the prestigious Japanese Good-Design prize and caused a sensation in the industry. The “GOMBOY” has become the industry standard for folding saws. Since then, Silky has introduced numerous other superior saw designs, further enhancing its long-standing reputation for excellence.
Silky continues to lead the industry in the development of epoch-making designs. Uichi Miyawaki now capably leads the company. Uichi inherited our founders mind, wisdom, entrepreneurial spirit and passion to continue to create the best possible saws in the world.
Today, Silky manufactures saws in Ono, Japan, renowned as the home of the finest cutlery steel known to man. Crafting fine wood cutting saws since the early 1900’s, Silky continues to raise the bar for quality, endurance and cutting efficiency that none can match. Leading the industry in both design and innovation, saw users are changing their language in all parts of the world from merely asking for a saw, to asking for a Silky.

Javier Suarez on Amazon says: “This saw rocks! I am a freelance carpenter and have to travel with my tools a lot. I always find myself using a pull saw in many occasions in lieu of using a power saw. I enjoy the clean cuts and the quickness of a pull saw but storing it has always had issues. Other saws that I own are long and the plastic blade covers either get lost or fall off which risks the teeth breaking or myself getting cut when reaching into my tool bag. This design solves that problem and keeps my productivity high.”

Philip D. on Amazon says: “If your into woodwork you should know what your looking at. If your not buy a different saw because you’re going to cut your self . This saw is very sharp, very accurate and rather delicate. In the right hands you can make cuts that don’t need sanding. I own two other silky models and use them almost every day and they have not failed me yet. It’s truly the only hand saw I use now. I’ll buy it again and again!”
