Karesuando ‘Kuttainen’ Knife, Brown

Karesuando ‘Kuttainen’ Knife, Brown

The Karesuando ‘Kuttainen’ Knife, Brown delivers traditional Sami-inspired craftsmanship in a compact bushcraft and carving knife built for serious outdoor use. Handmade in Karesuando, Swedish Lapland — 250 km north of the Arctic Circle — the Kuttainen combines practical wilderness performance with the unmistakable character of Scandinavian knife making.

Its compact 83 mm blade uses high-quality Swedish stainless steel, typically Sandvik 12C27, paired with a classic Scandinavian zero-edge Scandi grind. This razor-sharp blade handles precision wood carving, camp chores, food preparation, and game processing with excellent control and edge retention.

The ergonomic handle uses beautifully figured oiled curly Masur birch sourced locally in Scandinavia. The warm natural timber sits comfortably in the hand, maintains grip in cold or wet conditions, and helps prevent hot spots or blistering during extended outdoor use. Its hidden tang construction keeps the knife lightweight, balanced, and easy to control for fine carving tasks.

A traditional deep-pouch black leather belt sheath keeps the knife secure while allowing quick access in the field. The sheath also includes an internal protective safety insert that helps prevent accidental punctures while protecting the hand-stitched leather construction from blade damage over time.

Compact, lightweight, and handcrafted in Sweden, the Kuttainen makes an excellent choice for bushcraft, carving, hiking, camping, hunting, and everyday outdoor carry.
