The Helle Steinbit is one of those knives that quietly becomes a favourite. Beautiful in the hand, razor sharp out of the box, and built for serious fishing trips — whether that’s a quiet river session, working the fjords or heading offshore.

Living with the North Sea at their doorstep, Helle understand fishing. The Steinbit has been part of their range for more than 30 years, earning its place as a true classic. It’s designed to be practical, dependable and easy to handle when precision matters most.

And if you’re gifting it? In Norway, they would never wish you “good luck” before a trip — that would mean the opposite.

Built for Clean, Precise Filleting

The long, thin 153mm blade is crafted from Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel, known for its excellent corrosion resistance and ability to take a fine edge. At just 1.6mm thick, it offers the flexibility needed for smooth filleting and controlled skinning.

The blade arrives sharpened and polished to a razor edge, ready to work straight away.

Natural Beauty in Every Handle

The handle is made from carefully selected curly birch, hand sanded to a satin finish that highlights the natural grain and patterning in the wood. No two handles are identical, giving each knife its own character.

Lightweight and well balanced at just 90g (134g including sheath), the Steinbit feels natural and comfortable during extended use.
