Silky Gomtaro Root Cutting 240mm Hand Saw
The Silky Gomtaro Root Cutting Handsaw 240mm is specifically designed for cutting tree roots. It has a tooth style which should cut all timbers with ease. It has a hollow ground blade, which reduces friction when cutting. This allows the cutting stroke to feel very easy and fast. The teeth are not set, they are what Silky calls a Mirai-Me tooth style. This style of the tooth creates a very smooth cut which leaves the root so smooth that it will appear as though it has been given a light sand.
BENEFITS:
This benefits the tree by reducing the chance of water and bacteria sitting on groves in the timber, therefore, preventing infection in the wound. This style of tooth also cuts a larger hole in the timber than the width of the blade, therefore reducing the chance of the blade jamming in the cut. The blades are made out of high-quality, strong steel. This steel is not only very strong but is also quite flexible, which is very important in a hand saw.
BLADES:
The blades are also coated to give them some protection from rust and resin. Most importantly the tips of the teeth are given an additional coating of something which makes them extremely strong and resistant to going blunt very easily. The handles are made out of a special rubber designed by Silky Japan. It is called GOM and it is extremely comfortable to hold. It absorbs a lot of the vibrations you get when cutting and allows you to have a very good grip, even when your hands are damp. All parts are replaceable, so if you lose anything you can order replacement parts, i.e. screws, blades, and handles.
