Sterling Atlas Arbor Rope 15.9mm
Discover the Sterling Atlas 15.9mm (5/8”) arbor rigging line, engineered for exceptional absorption and durability while maintaining excellent handling despite its thicker diameter.
The Sterling Atlas Arbor Rope 15.9mm (5/8”) boasts an impressive Minimum Breaking Strength (MBS) of 18,000 lbs, yet retains the performance and handling akin to thinner ropes in its series. Featuring a redesigned double-braid construction, its new core reduces static elongation while allowing energy absorption, crucial for minimizing peak forces during negative rigging. The tightly braided polyester sheath prevents picking and safeguards the core without compromising flexibility. Ideal for use with Port-a-Wrap, capstan winches, or rigging blocks, the Atlas is spliceable or available with a sewn eye for knotless rigging.
Features:
- Core/Sheath: Nylon/Polyester
- Static Elongation: 0.4% at 135kg
- Available in lengths of 46m or 61m
Specifications:
- Diameter: 15.9mm (5/8”)
- MBS: 18,000 lbs (86.3kN)
- Weight: 200g/m
- Certification: ANSI Z133
The Sterling Atlas 15.9mm (5/8”) excels in reliability and performance, meeting ANSI standards for quality assurance in arborist rigging applications.
ABOUT STERLING:
They have been making the highest quality, most innovative static and dynamic rope, and cord for decades. They were the first to offer a 48-carrier static sheath construction for greater durability and better handling. Additionally, they came out with the first 100% Polyester static rope called the HTP. They were the first to offer 100% Technora heat and abrasion-resistant ropes to the fire industry. However, their accessory cords are constructed differently. Thanks to their innovative use of sewn tacks and eyes. Their ropes and cords are seen in the most technical rescues. These include in the tallest trees, on remote missions as well as hazardous job sites.
THE STERLING GUARANTEE:
Sterling guarantees their ropes to be free of defects. They stand firmly behind the excellence of their product’s design, engineering, and fabrication. When used responsibly and properly, in normal and recommended conditions, Sterling products will endure, perform and wear up to world-class standards. However, no rope lasts forever. Climbing and technical rope work may expose ropes to abrasion, fatigue, sunlight, constant loading, and even chemicals. Severe falls, lack of protection over an edge, exposure to chemicals, excessive temperatures or improper use will shorten or end the lifespan of any rope. These scenarios stress the importance of checking and protecting your ropes and gear, as well as using them in the proper applications.
